With a slightly smoky note, it develops aromas of small red fruit & raspberries, backed up by spicy notes. Fine structure with tannins bringing a nice support to the fruit & giving it persistency.

Gevrey-Chambertin "La Justice" 2010, Albert Bichot

Burgundy, France

Offers a beautiful, clear, deep ruby red colour tinged with violet. Aromas of red fruit on the nose (black cherry, blackberry). Subtle hints of oak are complemented by notes of liquorice. Over time, notes of spices, forest undergrowth, even musky notes will develop. This wine is silky, structured, tannic & well-balanced.

The 2007 Dinastia Vivanco Reserva is a blend of 90% Tempranillo & 10% Graciano aged in 50% new French & American oak for 24 months. Pain grille, pencil lead, Asian spices, incense, lavender, & blackberry aromas are followed by a savory, incipiently complex, structured Reserva made a traditional Rioja style.

Colección Vivanco Parcelas de Mazuelo 2010

Rioja, Spain

Deep purple colour, with garnet rim staining glass. Intense aromas of ripe black berries & raspberries combine with hints of understory, fresh herbs & many other earthy mineral nuances. Very fresh & fruity on the palate with eucalyptus tones coming through to complement the smooth tannins & long complex finish.

Very fine layers of orange, strikingly ripe & sweet aromas of raspberry, boysenberry & morello cherry wint hints of Mediterranean spices in the nose. This ruby coloured medium to full bodied wine has a great morello cherry filled palate with layers of sassafras & wild herbs showing good acidity balance, minerality & elegance.

Schubert Pinot Noir "Block B" 2011

Martinborough, New Zealand

Medium ruby-purple in colour, the 2011 Block B Pinot Noir is made from Dijon clones 777, 115 & 667. On the nose, it offers black raspberries, anise, some violets, plums & oolong tea. Medium-bodied, it has a great core of rich fruit flavour framed by medium levels of grainy tannins & a long, layered finish.

Rich & riper style of Merlot without being too alcohol dominant. An aromatic, voluptuous wine displaying intense, ripe Merlot aromas of blood plums & leafy tobacco with overlaid floral perfume that integrates perfectly with the spicy French oak flavours. Merlot's typical silky, fine grained tannins harmonise beautifully with the rich fruit characters. The addition of a small component of Cabernet Sauvignon helps the structural framework & the Malbec gives some mid palate plumpness.

The Rockhopper is a unique blend of robust Cabernet Sauvignon & Carménère is equally as exotic & promises to be different than any wine you've ever tasted. Part of Rockhopper's unique flavour can be attributed to the Carménère grapes, a variety long thought to be extinct, but recently rediscovered in Chile. Carménère provides spicy, earthy undertones & plays exquisitely off of the fruity texture of the Cabernet.

The nose has fruity aromas of blackberry, strawberry & notes of mild spices, tea & cocoa. With a very supple tannic structure, this well-balanced wine has lovely pleasant velvety tannins. The finish is long & aromatic, reminiscent of the fruity aromas on the nose.
